Who it's for
Private lessons give you Alla's full attention, in the comfort of your own space. Every session is shaped around you: your body, your goals and how you like to learn.
New to Tai Chi
Build solid foundations from your very first session, at your own pace.
Injury or health condition
Movements are adapted to what your body needs, with Qigong for recovery where it helps.
Training for a sport
Develop balance, rotation, leg strength and body awareness for tennis, cycling, running and golf.
Learning at home
Classes don't fit your week? Lessons come to you. Existing students can refine their form too.
YOUR PROGRAMME
How the programme works
A structured programme, not a one-off. Start with three introductory lessons, then keep progressing week by week with regular one-to-one lessons in your own home.
STAGE 1
Introduction to Tai Chi
3 lessons · 60 minutes each · Ask for prices
Three one-to-one lessons to give you a confident start. Alla gets to know how you move and what you want from your practice.
You'll finish with a short routine to practise on your own, and be ready to move straight on to your ongoing programme.
Best for: complete beginners, or anyone returning after a break.
IN YOUR HOME
What you'll cover
-
Posture and stance: alignment, rooting and weight shifting
-
Relaxed breathing: natural breathing that supports every movement
-
Silk-reeling: the circular movements at the heart of Chen style
-
Your first form movements: the opening of the Lao Jia sequence
-
Qigong basics: gentle exercises for energy, relaxation and recovery
-
Your own routine: a short practice to keep you going between lessons
Then keep progressing
Most students move straight on to Stage 2, so each lesson builds on the last and your skills keep growing.
STAGE 2
Your ongoing programme
60 minutes per lesson · Single lessons or blocks · Ask for prices
Regular one-to-one lessons that build on your foundations, week by week or fortnightly. It's your choice.
Lessons follow a clear progression, at whatever pace suits you, with a personal practice plan to keep you moving between sessions.
Best for: anyone who wants to keep progressing after the introduction.

MEET ALLA
Alla Bennett
Alla began Tai Chi and Qigong in 1998 and has studied Chen style since 2014 with Karel and Eva Koskuba of the Chinese Internal Arts Association. She trains regularly with Grandmaster Chen Xiaowang and Chen Yingjun, and is a member of the Tai Chi Union for Great Britain.
She has a particular interest in Qigong for women's health and injury recovery, and as a keen tennis player, cyclist and swimmer, she understands what active bodies need.
“In a private lesson I can see exactly how you move, and shape everything around you so you progress at your own pace.”
Frequently asked questions
Do I need any experience?
No. Lessons start from complete beginners, and every movement is adapted to suit you.
How long is each lesson?
60 minutes, the same as a class.
What do I need at home?
Enough space to take a few steps in each direction, comfortable clothes and flat, soft-soled shoes.
What about injuries or health conditions?
Tai Chi is low-impact and gentle on the joints. Alla adapts every movement to suit you, and asks you to check with your GP if you have any concerns.
Do I have to commit to ongoing lessons?
No. The introduction stands on its own, and you only carry on if you want to.
How often should I have lessons?
Weekly is ideal to build momentum, but fortnightly works well too. Alla will help you find a rhythm that suits you.
Can I combine private lessons with a class?
Yes. Many students do, and Alla can suggest the class that suits you best.
Which areas do you cover?
Farnham, Fleet, Church Crookham, Ash, Aldershot, Camberley, Sunningdale and nearby. Further afield? Just ask.
