Improves concentration and mental clarity through movement with intention.

Improves movement

Builds strength, balance, coordination and posture after long days at a desk.

A shared, non-competitive experience everyone can enjoy.

THREE WAYS TO EXPERIENCE TAI CHI

Choose your workshop

Alla’s 2–2.5 hour workshops are designed for complete beginners and combine movement, coordination, challenge and mindfulness. Each one offers a different way to experience Tai Chi, so you can choose the experience that suits your team.

OPTION 1

Revive

Calm the mind · Move the body · Recharge

A dynamic introduction to Tai Chi designed to help your team calm the mind, move the body and reconnect with themselves.

The workshop introduces the foundations of Tai Chi through a combination of gentle movement, coordination and more challenging exercises.

Best for: the most accessible option for a general corporate wellbeing day.

IN PERSON · ONLINE

What you'll experience

  • Learn the foundations: posture, alignment, weight shifting and mindful movement

  • Gentle Tai Chi flow: slow, flowing movements to settle the mind and release physical tension

  • Walk, balance & coordinate: playful exercises that challenge balance, coordination and the brain-body connection

  • Challenge your body: fun and surprisingly demanding exercises that reveal a different side of fitness

  • Move with intention: discover how focused movement brings you into the present moment

  • Finish with mindfulness: a gentle guided practice to slow down and leave feeling refreshed

Make it a journey

If the team enjoys the experience, the workshop can become a monthly Tai Chi programme, each session building on the last, so skills, coordination and understanding grow rather than repeating the same introduction.

OPTION 2

Get the Feel of Tai Chi Form

Learn · Practise · Perform

Want to experience what it’s actually like to learn Tai Chi?

Rather than simply following an instructor, your team learns a small sequence of traditional Tai Chi Form and experiences the concentration, coordination and repetition involved in learning it.

Best for: teams who enjoy learning something new and a collaborative challenge.

IN PERSON ONLY

The workshop includes

  • Introduction to Tai Chi Form

  • Learn fundamental movements: several core Tai Chi movements, broken down step by step

  • Practise together: individually and in small groups

  • Build a sequence: put the movements together into a short form

  • Balance & coordination: explore weight shifting and control

  • Team challenge: small groups see if they can remember and demonstrate what they’ve learned

Optional team demonstration

At the end, small groups can demonstrate their sequence to the rest of the team: a light-hearted challenge, without making it competitive.

OPTION 3

Martial Tai Chi

Move · React · Connect

Think Tai Chi is just slow movement? Discover the martial art behind it.

Participants explore Tai Chi through steps, kicks, punches, partner work and martial applications, all adapted for beginners, with no sparring or fighting. The focus is awareness, timing, balance, coordination and responsiveness.

Best for: teams wanting something unexpected, energetic and different.

IN PERSON ONLY

You'll experience

  • Martial principles: the basics behind the movements

  • Punches, strikes & kicks: with stepping patterns and footwork

  • Partner exercises: sensitivity and reaction drills

  • Push-hands-inspired drills: feel and respond to another person’s movement

  • Practical applications: what the Tai Chi movements are really for

  • Fun team challenges

Add the Tai Chi Bang

For an extra element of fun, include exercises with lightweight wooden training bats for coordination, movement and partner work. Bats cost approximately £2–£4 per participant, depending on quantity.

Larger team?

Each workshop is capped at 20 so everyone gets proper attention. For bigger teams, Alla runs several workshops, on the same day or across a week, and you can mix the three options.

How it works

One teacher, start to finish. Alla looks after everything herself, so there are no agencies or hand-offs, just a simple, well-organised workshop for your team.

STEP 1

Discovery call

A 20-minute conversation to understand:

  • Your team’s needs and preferences

  • Your organisation’s wellbeing goals

  • Your dates, space and preferred format

STEP 2

Space & set-up check

Alla reviews your space by photo, video call or a quick visit and advises on:

  • The best room or open area to use

  • Space per person for safety and comfort

  • Set-up for online or hybrid sessions (no equipment needed)

STEP 3

Staff communications kit

To help you fill the room, you receive:

  • A short session description for your intranet or email

  • A poster and simple sign-up form

  • A friendly what-to-wear and safety note

STEP 4

On the day

Alla:

  • Arrives early to set up the room

  • Adapts each session to the group’s level

  • Offers alternatives for beginners, injuries and access needs

STEP 5

The same teacher, every time

Revive is Alla’s own practice, so:

  • You deal with one person from first call to last session

  • Your team builds trust and progress with a familiar teacher

  • If Alla is ever unwell, the session is rescheduled at no extra cost

STEP 6

Paperwork & review

Everything your HR and facilities teams need:

  • Insurance certificate and risk assessment

  • Attendance count and anonymous feedback after each workshop

  • A handout and practice video so the benefits last

MEET ALLA

Alla Bennett

Alla began Tai Chi and Qigong in 1998 and has studied Chen style since 2014 with Karel and Eva Koskuba of the Chinese Internal Arts Association. She trains regularly with Grandmaster Chen Xiaowang and Chen Yingjun, and is a member of the Tai Chi Union for Great Britain.

Alla has also spent years working in a busy corporate environment, which is where she first taught Tai Chi to her own colleagues. She knows first-hand what a working day asks of people’s bodies and minds.

“I know how long and demanding a working day can be. My workshops give people a genuine break: something physical, a bit of a challenge, and a calmer mind to take back to their desk.”

Frequently asked questions

Which workshop should we choose?

Revive is the most accessible option for a general wellbeing day. Tai Chi Form suits teams who enjoy learning something new and a collaborative challenge. Martial Tai Chi is the unexpected, energetic choice for teams wanting something different. Not sure? Alla can talk it through with you on a discovery call.

How long is each workshop?

Two to two and a half hours, including a short break. Alla fits the timing around your working day, for example a morning, an afternoon or a wellbeing day slot.

Is Martial Tai Chi safe for beginners?

Yes. Everything is adapted for beginners and there is no sparring or fighting. The focus is on awareness, timing, balance and responsiveness, with partner exercises done at a gentle, controlled pace.

Do people need any experience or fitness?

No. Sessions are built for complete beginners and mixed abilities, and every movement can be adapted, including seated.

What should people wear?

Normal work clothes are fine. Flat, comfortable shoes help, but there is no changing or sweating involved.

What space and set-up do we need?

Very little. Allow about 2 m by 2 m per person: a room of roughly 40 m² suits a group of 10. A cleared meeting room, canteen, atrium or reception works well, ideally with a flat, non-slip floor and some privacy from passers-by. No mats, sound system or equipment are needed, and Alla can teach on a lawn, courtyard or nearby park in good weather. For online sessions, people just need enough space to stand and stretch their arms, with a camera that shows the upper body.

How many people can take part?

To make sure everyone gets personal attention, workshops are capped at 20 people, in person or online. Alla is happy to quote for larger groups, but recommends running several workshops (on the same day or across a week, for example) so every participant gets proper guidance.

Do you come to our office?

Yes. Workshops run in person across Surrey, Hampshire, Berkshire and London, at your office or a venue nearby. Elsewhere, just ask, or join live online.

How do online sessions work?

Alla teaches live on Zoom or Teams. People can join from home or a meeting room with a camera, and sessions can be recorded for anyone who misses one.

Can online participants interact with the teacher?

Yes. Sessions are live, not pre-recorded. With cameras on, Alla watches the group, corrects posture and gives individual pointers, and everyone can ask questions out loud or in the chat. Online groups are capped at 20 so everyone gets personal feedback, and there is time for questions at the end of every session.

What does it cost?

Each workshop is quoted to your team size, location and schedule. Book a short discovery call and Alla will send a clear proposal within two working days.

What about people with injuries or health conditions?

Tai Chi is low-impact and gentle on the joints. Alla offers alternatives for anyone who needs them, and asks people to check with their GP if they have any concerns.

Are you insured?

Yes. Alla holds professional liability insurance, and can share her certificate and a risk assessment with your facilities or HR team.

When will the nutrition sessions be available?

From spring 2027, once Alla completes her nutrition qualification. Register your interest now and Alla will be in touch first.

Can we try it before committing?

Yes. Most teams start with a single workshop. If it goes well, Revive can become a monthly programme, with each session building on the last.

How far ahead should we book?

Two to four weeks is ideal, with more notice around awareness weeks and January. Shorter notice is sometimes possible, so it is always worth asking.
